Congratulations to Rebecca Tildesley, who, on Sunday 27 January in Sheffield, was selected to join the England Under 17’s squad for Netball Europe which takes place in Malta from 7th – 11th March 2013.
Rebecca is 16 years old and lives in Tipton. She previously attended Alexandra High School but is currently studying for a BTec Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport at Stourbridge College.
At the tender age of 11, she started playing netball with Oldbury Netball Club and later attended South Staffs Under 14’s and Under 16’s Academy. She was then selected for West Midlands Regional Academy which includes being selected for West Midlands NTL Warriors, at which time it was recommended that she attend trials for England Under 17’s Development Squad.
Rebecca’s position is Goal Shooter but she can also play a defensive role. She is a ‘C’ Award umpire and so is already giving something back to the game. She has now moved to Yendys for her own development, playing in the Senior Regional netball league.
There is a huge week of netball in March with the Warriors playing two home games against Surrey Storm and Team South.
- Saturday 9th March 2013 Surrey Storm at 6.00pm
- Friday 15th March 2013 Team South at 6.30pm
Venue for both matches: Walsall Campus Sports Centre University of Wolverhampton Gorway Road Walsall WS1 3BD
Tickets will go on sale shortly via the Regional Office or can be purchased at the door on match days. E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org Regional Office : 01902 518752
